Be the One

"Life can beat us down. The insensitivity of people can deter us from following our path. Let not the darkness of others diminish your spirit. Rise above the madness. Be the strong one. Be the one that not only survives but transcends. Be the one who reaches through the darkness to guide people into the light. Be the one who seeks to change the world for the better. Be the one who respects the gift of life. Be the one who creates a new reality where love and spirit flow through everything. Be the one." - Michael Teal

A Sandcastle

"We are like children building a sand castle. We embellish it with beautiful shells, bits of driftwood, and pieces of colored glass. The castle is ours, off limits to others. We're willing to attack if others threaten to hurt it. Yet despite all our attachment, we know that the tide will inevitably come in and sweep the sand castle away. The trick is to enjoy it fully but without clinging, and when the time comes, let it dissolve back into the sea."

~Pema Chödrön
